100 Quilts for Kids

Here is my second quilt for 100 Quilts for Kids This is a great event my friend's sister in Law over at SwimBikeQuilt is hosting.

 Me and my daughters took this one to the Madison's Children's Hospital today in behalf of  A Sister's Love

Jenny's Nursing Cover

I bought this material in Utah a couple years ago when a fabric store was going out of business. I asked my sister to pick some fabric at Joann in California and send me an email of the fabrics she likes and I could go to Joann here in Wisconsin. She emailed me this fabric but in pink. I couldn't believe I already had this line in my stash. I was so excited I could finally use it.  Yay!  

I used THIS TUTORIAL. It was fun to add the chenille  in the corner. My sister is due any day so I"m off to ship it now. I love to SEW, especially when it's for my wonderful big sister.

Here is the finished Top for our Halloween quilt. so fun!!! I think I may add a border.

I finished the top to this one today, it will get a border too. It is going to the 100 Quilts for Kids through one of my favorite charities: Operation a Sister's Love. I'm excited to see the finished product. I love this one, my favorite colors + gray- Love it!!!! 

 I made a mini one for Jess and Kate- the print is Autumn, perfect for this chili weather. I did the binding on the machine (I keep trying this) I really can't get it right. I LOVE binding by hand for sure...why do I keep trying on the machine?  By the time I'm done "Saving Time" by using the machine I could have had a great binding done by hand....note to self

 Jess LOVES fabric. She goes through my scraps all the time. She found this wrap for her hair and a scrap piece that was "A Tie". She gave it to Spencer.  Love Her!!!! Love Him!!!!!

Works In Progress

I bought this charm pack while I was in Utah. I think I'm going to make a fall blankie for the girls and one for the hundred quilts for Kids.  

 I got this fun fabric in Utah also, Halloween is coming and the top is almost done. Show you more later

LaRon's Quilt is done.

LaRon will be getting this for his birthday. It is a gift from his father who is in prison. Margaret's Hope Chest  is  an amazing group and I am grateful for it in my life. As someone who has suffered from abuse I have learned a lot about forgiveness and am still learning about forgiveness. When I make these blankets for these children who's parent or parents are in prison it helps me find more compassion for those who hurt others. Heavenly Father has brought this group and these opportunities to me personally and I am happy to help these kids.  

I think every blankie needs something soft (or cozy as we call it around here) on it, especially the back. I added the blue chenille fabric to the front and a lightweight blue flannel to the back (he lives in Georgia so I don't want him too hot). 

LaRon loves airplanes.
