Kate's American Girl Doll Quilt

This all started with the thought...I think I'll make a barn quilt and copy all the barn quilts we saw in Iowa and Illinois last year....I researched the blocks and a lot of them were way too advanced for me and even paper piecing that I'm not interested in. Next I thought, "I'll make a barn quilt like a Farmer's Wive quilt a long." I got the book from the library and started pinning squared on Pinterest. I started making the blocks and decided.  I DO NOT want to make 111 of these. not even 10. I'm just not interested. With the left over fabric I decided to make Kate a little quilt for her doll.

I love this LECIEN fabric. I love the roses. It's one of my favorites. I didn't use any of the green fabric.
I saw a tutorial for spiral quilting and I thought I would try it. It wasn't easy to make uniform so I just went with it. It was fun but maybe the perfectionist in my isn't liking it all squigly. Kate loves it and that's why I made it so...after probably 20 wasted hours....Mission Accomplished.
