inspiration from my trip to Utah

I just got this pic of Audrey Jean  my little brother's baby and it made me realize how much I LOVED being near my little brother, his cute kids and especially my Sister-in-law Dawnell this summer while we both lived in Minneapolis for the summer  She really showed me the best example of a patient loving mom. I am changed because of her truly. I loved seeing this quilt at her home when I would visit. I'm counting down the days until Thanksgiving and Christmas so I can see them all again.

My friend Melanie is a superstar quilter and seamstress. She has 5 darling children under the age of 8 and one on the way and she can sing and she is so sweet, I love her laugh. She just whipps out all these amazing quilts in her "Spare Time". Seriously ?

I adore the quilt she is making for her new baby.  I adore her too!

She embroidered all these cute squares. DARLING.

When I left Utah for the first time I was sad to say goodbye but I only bawled and bawled and continued to bawl when I left my sister-in-law Malinda and Eugenia.Eugenia taught me to make Tamales and to Crochet. I surprised her at the door and she started bawling. I couldn't stop hugging her. She is so dear to my heart.
She was making this darling vest for her daughter Sasha (whom recently was baptized a member of my Church).  I can't even imagine how much this could sell for at Anthropologie.
she was also knitting this jacket

she gave Jess a new hat and this amazing shall.  She gave me tons of  crocheted flowers for the girls hair.

Erin and Claire were showing me the quilts they were working on and I about died. I was so inspired, so so inspired. Paula is one of the ladies who taught me to quilt but she did so much more than that. She has filled a place in my heart when I have needed a Mom to look up to. *my mom was gone on a mission while I lived near Paula.

Paula told me this quilt is her "Oh my Gosh" quilt. leave it to Paula to slice a quilt on accident and find a cool way to applique over it. Amazing! Look at all those tiny pieces. I told her my Spider Web quilt is going on a year now and she showed me this quilt and it took her a year too.It would take anyone else like 40 years.  This is a billion times more amazing and beautiful than anything I've made. It's all out of scraps. I love how she raised such great industrious girls. I just love her.
